ernest was born in Harlem, New York and raised in South Carolina where he attended Spartanburg Methodist College and Benedict College, At Benedict College, he sang for Pope John Paul II as a member of the Benedict College Concert Choir.

ernest returned to his roots after college and moved back home to Harlem where he started in Off Broadway musicals, worked as a studio musician and created a demo. After a bad experience working with a producer and the untimely loss of his mother, ernest decided to put his music career on hold. After a brief hiatus, he began to enjoy music again after listening to his musical heroes Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Maxwell, Jeffrey Osborne, Prince and George Michael.

ernest became a featured vocalist in the famed Rainbow Room Orchestra and sang with American Idol alum Melinda Doolittle on The Today Show. A few years, later, he formed his own band which performed at high-end private parties and corporate events at the top venues in New York City such as The Plaza Hotel, American Museum of Natural History, The Rainbow Room, The Pierre and The St. Regis.

Having success performing covers at corporate events, but feeling a pull to pursue his own musical career. ernest decided to invest himself and his music. He and his wife Karen packed up their things, left New York and moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he is working on his debut R & B album.
